Cookies Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones the spacegameslabs.com website uses today, and how you can control them. It covers the website only; the data our games process is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookies Policy applies to the website at https://spacegameslabs.com (the "website"), operated by Space Games Labs, a mobile game development studio located in Istanbul, Türkiye. It explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which of them the website uses and why, and what choices you have.

The website is a small, static site: it tells you who we are, points you to our games on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and hosts our legal documents. It has no accounts, forms or shopping cart, so it needs very little from your browser.

This policy does not cover our games. The data that Merge Lock! or any other Space Games Labs game processes on your device is described in our Privacy Policy. The rules for using our games and this website are in our Terms & Conditions.

"We", "us" and "our" mean Space Games Labs. "You" means the person visiting the website.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

"Cookie" is often used loosely to cover several different things.

2.1 Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On your next visit your browser sends it back, so the site can remember something about that browser, for example that you have passed a security check. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies; those set by another company whose content is embedded in the page are third-party cookies. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.

2.2 Local storage

Browsers also offer local storage and session storage, which let a website keep data such as saved settings inside the browser. Our website uses neither.

2.3 Pixels and similar technologies

A tracking pixel is a tiny, usually invisible image or script embedded in a page or e-mail. When it loads, it reports that the page was viewed, and combined with cookies it can build a picture of your activity across many sites. Software development kits (SDKs) play a similar role inside mobile apps. Our website contains no pixels, tags or analytics scripts; its security policy does not allow scripts to run at all.

EU and UK ePrivacy rules, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the Personal Data Protection Authority's cookie guideline all treat these technologies alike: anything not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for generally needs your informed consent before it is placed on your device. This policy follows that principle.

3. How we use them today

We want to be straightforward: the website sets no cookies of its own. No first-party, analytics or advertising cookie and no local storage entry is created by Space Games Labs. The only technologies involved come from two infrastructure providers.

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies from our hosting provider

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's content delivery network. To protect it from automated abuse, Cloudflare may set a small number of security cookies. They are strictly necessary: they keep the site available and safe, are not used to identify you or follow you across other sites, and do not require consent.

Whether they appear at all depends on Cloudflare's security systems; in normal browsing you may see neither. Like any web host, Cloudflare also keeps short-lived technical request logs for security and troubleshooting; these are not cookies, and we run no analytics on them. Cloudflare processes this data as our service provider under its privacy notice at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

3.2 Google Fonts

The website's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When a page loads, your browser requests the font files directly from Google, and that request necessarily includes your IP address and standard browser information. Google states that it uses this data to serve the fonts and for aggregate usage statistics, and that the request does not set any cookie. Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy applies. If you would rather your browser did not contact Google, a content-blocking extension can block the request; the site then falls back to a system font.

4. Cookies we do not use

To remove any doubt, here is what you will not find on spacegameslabs.com today:

Analytics cookies. No Google Analytics, Hotjar or any other tool that measures visits or behaviour on the website.
Advertising cookies. No ad network, retargeting pixel or attribution partner. Nothing here follows you to other sites to show you ads.
Social media cookies. No share buttons, "like" widgets, feeds or social login. The link to our LinkedIn page is an ordinary link; LinkedIn learns nothing about you until you click it.
Preference cookies and embedded media. The site looks the same for everyone, and there are no videos, maps or other embedded players.

4.1 Our commitment if that changes

We may one day add a visitor counter, a contact form or embedded videos. If that involves a cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary, we will do three things before it goes live:

update this policy and the table in section 3 so that every cookie is listed with its provider, purpose and duration;
where the law requires consent, for example under EU and UK rules and the KVKK, show a banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies before any are set, with declining as easy as accepting; and
let you change your mind later through a setting on the site.

Until this policy says otherwise, visiting our website leaves no trace beyond the Cloudflare security cookies described above.

5. How you can control cookies

Because the website sets nothing that requires your consent, there is no cookie banner to manage here. You still have full control through your browser.

5.1 Browser settings

Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block some or all of them. The exact location moves between versions, but the general path is:

Safari: Safari menu, Settings, Privacy. Use "Manage Website Data" to view or remove stored data, or tick "Block all cookies". On iPhone and iPad, go to Settings, Apps, Safari.
Google Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies. Block third-party cookies, clear data on exit, or add per-site rules.
Mozilla Firefox: Settings, Privacy & Security, Enhanced Tracking Protection. Choose Standard, Strict or Custom, and use "Manage Data" to inspect or remove cookies.
Microsoft Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions, Manage and delete cookies and site data. Block third-party cookies or review everything stored.

Most browsers also offer a private mode that discards cookies when the window closes, and a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal; our website has no tracking to switch off, so these change nothing here.

5.2 What happens if you block cookies

Blocking all cookies will not stop you reading this website; every page works without them. If Cloudflare shows a security challenge and your browser refuses the cf_clearance cookie, you may simply be asked to complete the challenge again on the next page. On other websites a blanket block can sign you out or empty a basket, so per-site rules are usually better.

5.3 Choices inside our games

Mobile apps do not use browser cookies, but they can use identifiers and SDKs for similar purposes. Your choices about those, including the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt, Android advertising ID settings and any in-game consent screen, are explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. Third-party links

The website links to services we do not control, in particular the Apple App Store and Google Play pages for our games and our LinkedIn company page. Once you follow one of those links you leave spacegameslabs.com, and the cookies and privacy practices of the site you land on are governed by that company's own policies, not by this one. Apple, Google and LinkedIn each publish detailed cookie and privacy notices, and we encourage you to read them. The same applies to the Cloudflare and Google policies linked in section 3.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the website's use of cookies or similar technologies changes, and when the law requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page tells you when the current version took effect. For material changes, such as introducing a non-essential cookie for the first time, we will make the change visible on the website before it applies and ask for your consent where the law requires it, as described in section 4. Earlier versions are available on request by e-mail.

Space Games Labs is located in Istanbul, Türkiye. You may also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu) in Türkiye, your local data protection authority in the EEA or the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
